Winter Storm Watch issued January 29 at 1:30PM MST until February 3 at 5:00PM MST by NWS Great Falls MT * WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 16 inches at and below pass level possible with higher amounts above pass level. Winds could gust as high as 65 mph. * WHERE...The Continental Divide along the Rocky Mountain Front. * WHEN...From Friday morning through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing snow may cause lane blockages and reduced visibility along area roads. Those in the backcountry should ensure they are prepared for dangerous conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will be a long duration event with the concern for accumulating impacts along the region. Short periods of light to no snow are possible in between rounds of heavy snow. Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.
